Walter Connolly

Cincinnati, OH born actor was a stage star who appeared in a couple of silent films, but is best remembered for his brief but prolific period as a character actor in 45 feature films released between 1932-39 beginning with Washington Merry-Go-Round (1932). At his best in comedies when his temper is about to blow, with settings in politics, business, or around the home (often a mansion) as dad to one legendary actress or another, Connolly appeared in support of some of Hollywood's biggest names in big films such as It Happened One Night (1934), Twentieth Century (1934), Libeled Lady (1936), and Nothing Sacred (1937). Connolly died following a stroke in 1940
