New York City born Dunn began as a chorus girl, appeared in the Ziegfeld Follies and other Broadway productions before making her film debut in 1926. Josephine Dunn's movie career was short, most of it coming between 1926-1933, with her best remembered film appearances of consequence coming in Get Your Man (1927) starring Clara Bow, The Singing Fool (1928) starring Al Jolson, Our Modern Maidens (1929) with Joan Crawford and Anita Page, Safety in Numbers (1930) featured with Carole Lombard, and opposite Jack Mulhall in Poverty Row release Murder at Dawn (1932), which is worth a mention since it is public domain and thus widely available.
