Binnie Barnes

London-born Barnes started out in England as a chorus girl and vaudeville performer before appearing in a number of screen shorts opposite Stanley Lupino. Her most important early role came as the King's fifth wife in Alexander Korda's The Private Life of Henry VIII (1933). She also appeared in Korda's The Private Life of Don Juan (1934) before coming to Hollywood to begin a successful run, most often as a supporting actress, in late 1934. Some popular Hollywood titles featuring Binnie Barnes include Rendezvous (1935), The Last of the Mohicans (1936), Small Town Girl (1936), Three Smart Girls (1936), Holiday (1938), Three Girls About Town (1941), with Abbott and Costello in The Time of Their Lives (1946), and The Trouble with Angels (1966), among many others.
