Other popular titles featuring Anne Shirley include John Ford's Steamboat Round the Bend (1935) with Will Rogers, married to James Craig in The Devil and Daniel Webster (1941), Olivia de Havilland's pal in Government Girl (1943), and her final role before retiring, as Miles Mander's daughter in crime classic Murder, My Sweet (1944) starring Dick Powell.
